The moon landings and England winning the World Cup will be among some of the greatest television moments being brought to life in this year’s Rose Fair parade.
Wisbech Round Table is once again organising a visual and musical treat to wind its way through the town centre on Saturday, July 5.
The parade is a key feature of the annual Rose Fair Festival, which will kick off on Wednesday, July 2.
More than 18 floats will be recreating some of the greatest television moments, which is this year’s theme, when they leave the Queen Mary Centre at 11am and 2pm.
Parade organiser Sam Smith said: “The theme was chosen to ensure a variety of colourful and diverse entries. I would encourage people to come along and support the parade.”
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Thomas the Tank Engine, Four Weddings, the Superbowl and the Beatles’ first appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show will be among the floats featuring in this year’s parade.
Floats have been entered by Wisbech St Mary Primary School, Crazy Days Nursery and the Queen Mary Centre.
The Royal British Legion will be marking the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the First World War with a float. Music will be provided by the 13th City of Coventry Scout Group, Lynn Community Samba Band and two dance academies.
