Fitness enthusiasts will have the chance to choose a time, day or night they want to work out as a new health club is due to open in August.

As reported in last week’s Fenland Citizen, Tesco has applied to create a gym in its new store in Cromwell Road, Wisbech.

Operator 24/7 Fitness hopes to open on August 1.

The new club is hoped to have more than 200 exercise stations, a full timetable of classes and will as the name suggests be open 24 hours in line with the new store’s opening hours. The cost to users will be £17.95 a month.

“We have a slight delay in our scheduled opening date but we are working closely with Wisbech council to ensure that we are all set to open on August 1. Everyone at 24/7 Fitness is excited about our first Cambridgeshire Club,” said Gary Lockwood, managing director.

“I have been making regular visits to the site during the build and it is a real flagship site for our company.”

The gym could create 40 part time and full time jobs.
