In memory of mum Pam

A Chatteris family have raised more than £502 for a cancer charity at a fundraising coffee morning.

Lara Wayman held an open house run with the help of family and friends on Friday March 1 in memory of her mum Pam Price, of Wimblington, who died of a brain tumour at the age of 67 in 2010.

The day was organised in aid of the Brain Tumour Charity (formerly Brain Tumour UK), which helps those affected by the devastating disease.

Caroline Buckle help serve the teas and Helen Mortlock was there with Pampered Chef goodies. There was a raffle with prizes donated by Apex Photography, Tinian jewellery and Pampered Chef and Skylark Garden Centre donated a cake for a separate raffle.

The day made £502 and Lara’s sister Natalie Pettit and her husband Jeff of the George pub at Doddington donated £625, which was originally raised for fireworks but could not go ahead.

Lara is now planning a cake stall in Chatteris on March 22 and they will also be in making a collection in local supermarkets throughout this month as it is Brain Tumour Awareness Month.

And in April Lara’s huband Glen will compete in a 5km Mucky Races event in Essex.
