A coroner will be opening an inquest into the death of Wisbech teenager Alisa Dmitrijeva – three years after she was last seen alive.

The 17-year-old was last seen alive during the early hours of August 31 in Lynn before her partially-clothed body was found on woodland on the Sandringham estate.

An inquest will be held in Lynn County Court on Monday, September 15, at 10am.

Det Insp Marie James, who has been leading the investigation, said: “Despite exhaustive enquiries the decision has been made to pass the case through to Her Majesty’s Coroner for an inquest.

“The police investigation into this case will remain open and any new information or leads will be followed up and acted upon.”

Alisa was last seen in Friar’s Street, Lynn, at 12.15am on August 31 and is also believed to have earlier socialised with friends at Snettisham beach.

Her partially-clothed body was found in a copse at Anmer, known as French’s Covert Belt, by a dog walker at 4pm on January 1, 2012.

Alisa’s jeans, jumper and coat have never been recovered along with her mobile phone.

Norfolk and Suffolk major investigation team launched a re-appeal for information last year.
