A footpath will at last be built over the Norwood Bridge in March after £150,000 of funding was secured for the project.

Cllr Steve Count was delighted when Cabinet at Cambs County Council allocated the funding for the pathway, which will be in the budget for 2014/15.

Cllr Count said: “Anyone who has crossed that bridge knows just how dangerous it is and why this needed sorting.

“Although I have campaigned hard for this since being elected;, it was way better than my most optimistic calculations.

“I want to thank all of those councillors who helped support this project, getting it into the March Town Transport Strategy, and also the people of March who responded to the consultation which meant we could put it near the top of the list.”
