The premises licence at Georges in March is due to reviewed tomorrow (Thursday).
Cllr Kit Owen applied for the licensing committee at Fenland District Council to look at Georges after complaints from local residents.
But landlord Nigel Marsh maintains he is doing everything to minimise noise and disruption to residents living near the pub and he has the support of many customers who have written letters of support.
The licencing committee met regarding Georges in October, when Mr Marsh applied to extend his hours. This application was refused, although the opening hours were extended to allow Mr Marsh the opportunity to prove his concept in relation to winding down and allowing customers to disperse in smaller groups. However, an appeal has been made against this decision which has yet to be determined.
Complaints from residents include loud bass and music, people shouting and fighting and bright disco lights shining from the premises.
Supporters of Georges say they enjoy the live music and feel safe in the premises. They praise Mr Marsh for trying to attract people into March and say he is “highly professional”.
