A man was airlifted to hospital on Monday after a serious crash on the A47 at Walpole Highway, close to where a Lithuanian couple were killed a week before.
The man was driving along the westbound carriageway towards Wisbech when his vehicle collided with the central reservation at about 5.50pm.
Firefighters and ambulance crews were called and an air ambulance took the driver to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge with serious injuries.
He was the only occupant in the car and no other vehicles were involved.
The road was closed in both directions and diversions put in place while debris was cleared and repairs carried out to the central reservation.
It re-opened later that night.
Anyone who witnessed the collision is urged to contact Norfolk Constabulary on 101.
