Man arrested in suspected explosives incident
Bomb squad and police at Ash Grove Chatteris
A bomb disposal team along with specialist police officers and sniffer dogs swooped on a property in Chatteris this morning as a man was arrested on suspicion of possessing bomb making equipment.
Emergency services arrived at the house in Ash Grove at around 11.15am and the 33-year-old man was arrested a short while later.
Investigations were being carried out inside number 14, which is set back in the corner of the quiet cul-de-sac and also a garage at the back of the properties.
Detective Inspector Dave Murphy, from March Police said: “We have arrested a man under Section Four of the Explosives Act. The bomb specialists were called in to negate any risk.
“There are materials in the house that we are concerned about, although it is possible that they could be kept legally, but we have decided to be careful and have called in the experts.

The arrested man – who is thought to be of Far Eastern nationality - has been taken to Huntingdon Police Station for questioning and DI Murphy said the detailed searches were likely to continued for most of the day.
