DETECTIVES have charged a man with murder and rape after the discovery of a woman’s body in Wisbech.
Officers were called by the ambulance service at around 11.45am on Saturday to reports of a sudden death at Hare and Hounds in North Brink.
Officers discovered the body of Virginja Jurkiene, 49, of Oakroyd Crescent, Wisbech.
A 48-year-old man has been charged with murder and two counts of rape and is due to appear at King’s Lynn Magistrates’ Court this morning.
Police have said the incident is not linked to the murder of Una Crown, who lived at Magazine Lane, Wisbech and whose body was found at home on January 13.
