Members of Friday Bridge Senior Citizen Club got busy with their knitting needles recently to produce items to help mums and babies in Africa.
Shirley Allen suggested the club get involved with the Project Knit for Africa and members were quick to join in.
They produced cardigans, hats, blankets and Teddies which will be used in packs that will be used to act as an incentive for pregnant women to attend anti-natal clinics.
The knitted items will be added to packs that also contain baby grows and vest, which will be handed out to mothers who attend at least three clinic appointments.
The aim is to encourage mums to be to get the care they need and learn about baby care and health education.
