A charity is now looking for youth groups to support after raising £2,500 during a hugely successful family fun day.
More than 1,000 people went along to the second Local Wish Fun Day, which was held at the Wisbech Rugby Club Field on Sunday.
People of all ages enjoyed cheering on competitors in a strong man competition, rugby match and a host of entertainment.
Now event organisers, Christina Purcell, from Holiday With Us, and Kevin Bunton, of Marmion House Wisbech, are looking for local youth groups to benefit from the day.
Christina said: “The day was absolutely fantastic. Everyone who supported the day said how fantastic it was.
“Now we are looking for nominations from youth groups with projects we can contribute towards.
“We would be interested in nominations from groups who need new equipment or helping to get children off the streets.”
Seven contestants took part in the strong man competition, which was organised by Ironworks Gym, Wisbech, Jimmy Mortor won the event with Phil Norman taking second place and joint third went to Jason Stokes and Russ Lanas Koivlas
Rugby players from Wisbech took on Thorney during the event. The match was won by Thorney.
Entertainment during the day including demonstrations by Fenland Gynmastics Club and the Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Gym.
Youngsters were delighted by a clown act and Pepper Pig and there were also fun fair rides.
