Three members of staff are doing a second take at a Wisbech store, which closed just before Christmas.

Stuart Goode, Nathan Smith and Jake Hunt were facing the dole queue when national high street chain Blockbuster went out of business in December. But undeterred the three, who have notched up over 32 years experience working in the Norfolk Street shop, have decided to go it alone and are re-opening the business on Wednesday (January 15) under the name The Entertainment Centre.

Stuart, who was the store’s previous manager, said: “We wanted to offer the same great service as we did before for the local people but can now offer greater flexibility in our range of products as well as now independently being able to go the extra mile in searches for what our customers want.”

The shop will be open seven days a week 11am to 7.30pm offering up to date DVDs, CDs and gaming for hire as well as retail.

Membership is free, proof of identity is needed. Everyone who registers between now and Valentine’s Day will be entered in a free prize draw.
