More than 50 local people have been employed by the new Wisbech Frankie & Benny’s, which opened its doors on Monday.

The restaurant is part of the new Tesco Extra and Light Cinema complex on Cromwell Road and is the first of three to open there.

The majority of the employees are from the Wisbech area and have been employed in all areas, from back of house to waitressing and bar staff.

Manager Adam Wyatt, who has come over from the Peterborough Boongate branch, said: “We are all very excited. The staff have been itching to get started.”

Frankie & Benny’s as a chain is focused on giving back and is currently supporting Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.

The Wisbech branch is wasting no time getting stuck in and will be taking part in a special charity drive Easter weekend, so go along and support them.

The restaurant will be open seven days a week, from 9am to 11pm, Monday to Saturday, and 9am to 10.30pm on Sunday.
