Search for shape of ‘Get Britain Bouncing’ Campaign
Amateur bouncers from Fenland are (February, 2013) invited to submit a photograph of themselves making a shape on a trampoline to be in with the chance of fronting a national campaign.
The ‘Get Britain Bouncing’ initiative is looking for a youngster to provide the shape for the campaign, which promotes trampolining while helping to raise funds for the Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Trust.
Martin Schofield, Chief Executive Officer of Super Tramp, which is supporting the campaign, explained: “Get Britain Bouncing is looking for a youngster to be the shape of the organisation and act as an ambassador for amateur bouncers, so we are asking children from Fenland to put themselves forward.
“Get Britain Bouncing aims to publicise trampolining as a fun and safe activity for all the family. It is very much like a competition to find a face that other organisations run but we’re particularly interested in a shape made on a trampoline. It could be jumping, standing or even lying, but it must be on a trampoline.
“Children from Fenland who would like to be considered need to send a photo of themselves making an interesting shape on a trampoline. They can be as creative as they like but must stay safe at all times.”
Entrants should be aged between four and 16-years-old and be a keen trampolinist. They don’t have to go to a club, they could be a garden bouncer but they must have parental consent to take part.
Martin added: “Entry is quick and easy, all parents/guardians need to do is download an entry form from www.getbritainbouncing.org.uk and email this with their child’s photograph to info@getbritainbouncing.org.uk. We are also encouraging people to make a voluntary donation to the CF Trust by texting Jump23 and the amount you wish to donate to 70070.”
Texts will be charged at the mobile phone operator’s standard rate. The charity will receive 100% of the donation. People must be aged 16 or over to use the text donate service and are advised to ask the bill payer’s permission.
Get Britain Bouncing is a campaign designed to promote the many benefits of trampolining.
The initiative is supported by the national trampoline manufacturer, supplier and retailer, Super Tramp, which is committed to helping the nation enjoy bouncing safely. The company helped found the organisation by bringing various bodies together and is sponsoring it.
The CF Trust will be involved with the initiative too and will highlight the health benefits of bouncing to CF sufferers. Get Britain Bouncing will also help to raise funds for the charity.
The CF Trust is the only national charity dealing with all aspects of CF. Each week five babies are born with CF and two young lives are lost.
Senior Corporate and Trust Fundraising Manager for the charity, Sue Piper said: “We know that families of children who have CF often use trampolines as a fun way to help them do their daily physio and we’re delighted to be part of this new campaign and would like to thank Get Britain Bouncing for its support.”
Since 1964, the CF Trust has supported excellence in research and clinical care, as well as providing practical support and advice to people and their families.
Martin continued: “Trampolining is good for your health and co-ordination and if you are able to join a trampolining club then it is great for teamwork and socialising too.
“Super Tramp is helping Get Britain Bouncing to link with many other community and health organisations nationwide to work together to get the nation bouncing safely. We’re delighted to be able to help with the campaign.”
The competition closes at midnight on Friday, April 19, 2013. Full details of the search are available on the campaign website, www.getbritainbouncing.org.uk.
Everyone who takes part will receive a certificate and a panel of judges will choose five regional winners, who will go through to the final. The overall winner will receive a trampoline and the runners-up will receive a rebounder, which is a mini-trampoline suitable for indoor use.
The winner and runners-up will be announced by Monday, April 29 and will be expected to participate in publicity. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Trampolinist, Laura Gallagher, who is a world and European medallist, will be helping with the campaign and will sit on the judging panel.
