Second road death

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian was killed in a collision at Chatteris on Sunday.

Dijana Arlauskiene (37) of Huntingdon Road, Chatteris, died after being struck by two cars on the A141 at 6.30pm.

The collision involved a Vauxhall Omega and a Vauxhall Astra. Neither driver was injured in the incident.

The road was closed for several hours while investigations were carried out.

Sergeant Richard Jackson, said: “I would appeal to anyone who saw the collision or the vehicles prior to it to contact police.”

Anyone with any information should call Sgt Jackson on 101.

This is the second death within a week on Fenland roads as the previous Sunday, Jolanta Baciuliene (43), of Wisbech, died following an accident which occurred while she was crossing the A47 at Wisbech.
