The first tenants have moved into their flats at Doddington Court, the extra care scheme next to Doddington Hospital that enables people aged over 60 to retain their independence while receiving some level of care.

The building was completed at the end of December. A manager has been appointed and all the communal areas are now fully furnished and equipped, including the restaurant and fitness studio.

The scheme includes 50 flats available for rent. Ten have already been taken; the first two tenants moved in this week, with more due to follow soon. All tenants provide their own furniture in their flats.

Julie Booker, the newly appointed manager, said: “Eighteen people have already had viewings and been very impressed. Some have commented that it looks like high-class hotel with your own apartment.”

If you are over 60 with a care need, or have a relative that would like to view the apartments, please contact Julie on 01354-742957 or email Julie.booker@sanctuary-housing.co.uk
