A petition calling for a pedestrian crossing in a Wisbech street has been given to Cambridgeshire County Council.

Andrew Drake, 49, is campaigning for a pedestrian crossing in Queens Road due to concerns about parked cars and traffic.

His petition collected 183 signatures which he has presented to officials at Cambridgeshire County Council.

Mr Drake, of Larksfield, Wisbech, and friends spent a month collecting signatures.

He said: “Myself and many others in the area can’t get across Queens Road safely because of the parked cars and the traffic which passes through there. I am asking for the council to implement a zebra crossing in Queens Road.

“It is for disabled people, as there is a disabled centre nearby and there are a lot of mums with young children so this is something for the community.

“I feel very passionate about this.”
