IF you’re a horse rider looking for a group of fellow enthusiasts – whatever your age or level – check out Wisbech and District Riding Club.
The club is now in its third year and is going from strength to strength. Its base and all competitions and clinics are held at Sovereign Quarter Horses, near Stags Holt, on the outskirts of March.
There is ample parking, on-site stabling, indoor and outdoor schools, a large competition field for summer shows and winter arena eventing, an excellent cafeteria and a well-stocked English and Western tack shop.
The club is a British Riding Clubs affiliated club, so being a member has many advantages, including public liability insurance for all members, the opportunity to represent the club at area competitions and area and national finals and discounts in local stores that support the club.
The club runs teams at junior, senior and grassroots in dressage, show jumping and combined training, with the possibility of eventing and endurance teams in the future.
There are regular events open to members and non-members in dressage, show jumping, showing and arena eventing, with combined training starting soon.
Kids Club and gridwork training sessions are held every Tuesday evening.
Evening performance shows are held three times a year to allow competitors to experience first-hand all the glitz, glamour, music and atmosphere these occasions bring – the biggest being the annual two-day show in September.
All members accrue points towards the winter and summer leagues, with stunning rosettes and trophies up for grabs.
