The College of West Anglia, Visual Arts department at the Isle Campus in Wisbech celebrated yet another successful year and rounded off a week of shows with an award ceremony held at the campus.

Students, staff, families and friends gathered with staff to applaud their achievements over the past year with prizes presented by the Mayor

and Mayoress of Wisbech, Councillor Michael Hill and Mrs Jane Hill, and Stephen Barclay MP for North East Cambridgeshire. The excellent work produced by the students was displayed in the college’s ‘ArtSpace’, a new and impressive gallery and studio and all spent an enjoyable and vibrant evening looking at the art and designs.

The event drew to a close It’s Our Exhibition 2014 that has been running all week at the Isle Campus, Wisbech. The exhibition also included the

exciting and creative range of fashion garments that had been a part of the fashion shows held this year at Elme Hall Hotel.

The Elizabeth Wright Awards: First Prize, Leah Burton, Foundation Diploma Art and Design Level 3; Joint Second Prize, Abbey Fowler, Foundation Diploma Art and Design Level 3; Jonathan White, Extended Diploma Graphic Design; Joint Third Prize, Abigail Rose, Extended Diploma, Fashion, Clothing and Textiles; Bethany Herson, Foundation Diploma Art and Design Level 3.

Student Awards: Stephanie Crowson, Student of the Year (First Year) Extended Diploma Photography; Naomi Cunnington, Joint Student of the Year (First Year) Extended Diploma Graphic Design; Jake Howlett.

Charlotte Greeves, Student of the Year (First Year) Extended Diploma Art and Design (3D); Blaise Turner, Student of the Year Diploma in Art and Design Level 2; Lesley Best - Student of the Year (First Year) Extended Diploma Fashion, Clothing and Textiles; Rachel Simpson, Outstanding Achievement Award - Extended Diploma Fashion, Clothing and Textiles; Cameron Duffy, Student of the Year (Second Year) Extended Diploma Graphic Design; Louise Kettleborough, Joint Student of the Year (Second Year) Extended Diploma Art and Design 3D; Edward Chapman.

Bethany Herson, Student of the Year Foundation Diploma Art and Design L3; Carli Nelson, Outstanding Achievement Award, Extended Diploma Fashion, Clothing and Textiles; Abigail Rose, Designer of the Year, Extended Diploma Fashion, Clothing and Textiles.

In addition to the work celebrated by CWA students budding designers and photographers, aged 11 – 16, were invited to demonstrate their flair and creativity by entering three competitions run by the Visual Arts Department at the Isle Campus.
