A MARCH resident has written to the Citizen in disgust after seeing a youth throw stones at a swan in the river at the town’s Nene Parade.
The reader was cycling to town via the BMX track on Friday when he saw three youths sitting on the bank opposite the swan.
One of them was throwing stones.
“I just wanted to say leave these poor swans alone they are not doing anything wrong. I hope people will respect these beloved birds. “This family of swans have been nesting on this stretch of river for the last two to three years it would be a shame to see them go,” the reader said.
“I want to make it clear that I have reported the incident to the police and RSPB. I’m sure teenagers these days have better things to do then act like that,” the reader added.
