Handwriting enthusiasts in the UK are being invited to leave their mark on a nationwide campaign to ‘Get Britain Writing,’ by penning a page of their own longhand for a world famous brand to analyse.

Sheaffer®, celebrating 100 years of quality design and manufacturing in 2013, has become an official partner of National Stationery Week from April 22 to 28 and is calling on people to put pen to paper to help promote the cause.

Each article of handwriting submitted to Sheaffer® will immediately be in with a chance of winning a luxury calligraphy set, along with an expert graphologist to scrutinize the work.

Sheaffer® has established itself as a prestigious name in the UK stationery market and hoping to raise its profile when playing a starring role when festivities commence next month.

Tim Williams, General Manager at Sheaffer®, said: “We want to revive the art of handwriting to coincide with National Stationery Week and to do this, we need people in all areas of the UK to help.

“A page of carefully crafted handwriting would be ideal, which would immediately stand a chance of being analysed by a graphologist before we send back one of our hugely popular calligraphy sets.

“When we heard about National Stationery Week’s ‘Get Britain Writing’ theme, we knew we had to get involved.

“We are also excited at the prospect of working with the National Literacy Trust, which carries out a great deal of good work in schools and with families across the UK.

“While we know that a pen will never go out of fashion, it is still vitally important to underline the role that stationery brands have in stimulating people of all ages to keep on writing as a past-time as well as a necessity.”
