School pupils lined up with service veterans this morning (Monday) to remember the fallen on Armistice Day in Wisbech.
RAFA Padre, the Rev Leslie Stoker, minister at Wisbech Methodist Church, led the Act of Remembrance at 11am on the 11th of the 11th held at the town’s War Memorial in the Crescent.
Town Mayor Sam Hoy accompanied by the Beadle Alister Hopkins was among those who stood for the two minutes’ silence in the wind and rain.
While Year 4 pupils from The Orchards School read poems of remembrance they had written. The service, organised by Bill Durrant, was followed with an opportunity to enjoy refreshments in the United Reformed Church.
