Staff and volunteers at a local charity shop are getting ready to welcome customers at their ‘Buy a Brick Campaign’ through out the coming weeks.
The shop in the Market place in Wisbech is organising a special event to raise vital funds for health and social care charity Sue Ryder at the start of the Capital appeal for the rebuild of Thorpe Hall in Peterborough.
Caz Lennox, shop manager at Sue Ryder, commented: “We have 143 bricks for sale and there are eight lucky bricks with a surprise gift attached. It’s OK the bricks are made of card; we wouldn’t expect you to pop a brick in your shopping bag!”
Caz added: “By buying a brick and supporting Sue Ryder in this way, local people can help us raise much needed money that will go directly to pay for a new purpose-built, state-of-the-art hospice in your region.
“To ensure people are provided with the care and support they need, Sue Ryder needs to raise £6 million by March 2015 to fund the build”.
Sue Ryder – Thorpe Hall Hospice currently provides incredible care for over 1,500 people and their families living with an incurable illness each year in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Leicestershire, and as far as Rutland and Norfolk.
The new hospice will enable Sue Ryder to provide personalised end of life care for more people, and offer the very best environment for people and their families during what can be an extremely difficult time.
