Plans to create a £300 million science and technology hub were showcased during a London reception.
Government minister Elizabeth Truss hosted the event at the House of Commons on Monday to showcase the Centre of Advanced Knowledge Engineering.
The former RAF Downham air base could be transformed into a state-of-the art campus, including Institute for Data Science, a student hall, business premises and a small number of shops and cafes. Downham Market Development (DMD), part of Aventa Captial Partners, expect to go for planning early next year with building soon after. Chief-executive John Beer said: “This reception has given us a fantastic opportunity to speak directly to those who have a huge influence over the futures and aspirations of the nation’s youngsters, rural regeneration and the nurturing the new industries.”
