Two newspaper delivery men from Wisbech are taking on what they have dubbed the ‘stupidly long run’.
Dave Kerridge (44) and Stuart Webb (36) are tacking the super-tough Cotswold 100 mile run in August to raise money for children’s cancer charity Clic Sargent.
The challenge will see them run essentially four marathons in four days on varying terrain, from nature trails to through villages.
But despite never doing a marathon before, the pair are positive and having started a training regime to prepare themselves.
Stuart said: “We are both pretty determined to see it through to the end, no matter what. We will have a huge number of people to help us get to the start line, with support and good wishes, but it’s up to us to do the hard work and get through the 103 mile course in one piece.”
They want to raise as much money as possible and are kicking it off with a charity disco at Mendis on Saturday, May 10, with more events, including an afternoon tea, planned.
They also have a Justgiving page at www.justgiving/thestupidly where people can donate.
