Long Sutton based PJ Cat Rescue is full to capacity. The charity has seen an increase in demand for their services of over 600 percent in the last six years.
PJ Cat Rescue director Janet Boujaama said largely due to the current economic climate, more people have had to give up much-cherished pets because they cannot afford them.
“In spite of the best efforts of our volunteers to re-home cats and to raise extra funds, we are unable to keep pace with the extra demand. We are constantly looking for ways to increase funds and to increase the number of foster care volunteers we have, but with over 80 cats currently in our care, we are at breaking point,” said Janet, who is appealing for help.
The rescue has a waiting list for cats and is having to take the most urgent. If you can help call 01406-258221.
