THE A141 between March and Chatteris is currently closed to traffic after a lorry jackknifed earlier this afternoon (Monday).
The jackknifing lorry caused a large lorry carrying beetroot to spill some of its load across the road.
One person received minor injuries in the incident.
The road is closed, and will be for several hours, while the mess is cleaned up. Traffic coming from Manea is being diverted along the Sixteen Foot Bank.
Police officers at the scene hit out at impatient drivers who ignored the cordon and drove through, mashing the beetroot and making it extremely slippery.
One officer said it would take a couple of hours longer to clean up the road because people couldn’t wait a short time for a section of road to be cleared and opened.
