AN appeal has gone out to help make Easter ‘eggs-tra’ special this year for disadvantaged children in the Fenland area.
The Anglia Co-operative Travel branches at Wisbech and March are asking you to support their Easter eggs appeal – and the sweet treats collected will be distributed via Wisbech Salvation Army and Home-Start at March.
Eggs are being collected at the Anglia Co-operative Travel branches in the Westgate department stores at Church Terrace, Wisbech, and Station Road, March.
Wisbech branch manager Kelly Hubbard said: “It’s the first time we have appealed for Easter eggs, but our customers responded brilliantly to our Christmas toys appeal, which we also ran with the Salvation Army, and I’m sure they will help us make this Easter special, too.”
March branch manager Natasha Thatcher added: “It doesn’t matter whether it’s a big egg or a small one, it’s the thought that counts - you will be helping to put a smile on the faces of local children.”
Eggs can be left from Monday to Saturday between 9am and 5.30pm at the two travel branches. The March appeal closes on April 16 and the Wisbech appeal on April 20.
Wisbech Salvation Army and Home-Start, which supports parents struggling to cope, will pass the eggs on to local children.
