Fenland firefighters have raised hundreds of pounds for good causes thanks to charity car washes.

Manea on-call firefighters joined up with Team A-Mayesing to scrub cars outside the village’s Rose and Crown pub.

The team effort raised £510, which will be split between the Firefighters Charity and MIND.

Watch Commander Mark Milner said: “The crew at Manea would like to say a huge thank you to the fantastic people from Team A-Mayesing for helping us and the residents of Manea for turning up and donating. The event has helped raise vital funds for a very deserving cause and hopefully has helped Team A-Mayesing one step closer to their goal of raising lots of money in memory of Aaron Mayes.”

Chatteris firefighters raised just over £400 at their event.
