A DEDICATED mother and daughter duo are running two and a half marathons to raise money for charity.
Amanda Boldy, of Chatteris, and her mother Carol Goodwin were in London on April 22 where they completed the London Marathon and will be heading to Edinburgh on May 26.
Amanda (25), a full-time administrator with the NSN, is raising money for the British Heart Foundation as an official BHF Heart Runner.
Carol ran the London Marathon for Action on Pre-eclampsia (APEC), the only charity in the UK dedicated to raising awareness of the potentially fatal condition that affects pregnant women.
The pair, pictured at the London Marathon) will also be running the Great North Run in November, completing their trio of fundraising runs.
Amanda said: “I decided to take part because the British Heart Foundation is such an incredible charity and everyone knows someone who has been affected by heart disease in one way or another.
“This way I know I am doing my part to help those out there who need it and who knows, perhaps one day I may need their help too.”
To help with their fundraising, they are hosting a ladies-only pamper and shopping evening at Thorndown Junior School, in St Ives, on Friday, May 11. Entry is £5 and includes refreshments. Tickets can be purchased on the door at £6 or at http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/amandaandcarol
