Rotarian Godfrey Smith, president of the Rotary Club of March, presented a donation of £100 to Vanessa Droy and Suzanne Lombardo representing Eddie’s, which was formerly known as Cambridgeshire Mencap.
The donation will be used to buy a range of books and other resource materials relating to Makaton for use by the group.
Makaton is the simple hand-signing system that allows many of Eddie’s service users to communicate where their speech is limited or non-existent.
Vanessa Droy, on behalf of Eddie’s, thanked the Club for the donation during the presentation, which took place at a recent meeting in the Conservative Club in March.
Eddie’s provides local support for people with learning difficulties. For further information about Eddie’s visit the website www.eddies.org.uk
