Students at March’s Neale Wade Academy will help make children in poverty smile this Christmas after collecting shoeboxes full of gifts as part of the Operation Christmas Child appeal.
The school packed and wrapped around 120 shoeboxes to donate to the appeal, organised by the Samaritan’s Purse. The boxes, filled with toys, stationery, sweets, clothing, toiletries and more, will be sent to children in war-torn countries and extreme poverty. Teachers Charlotte Hockin and Janice Holdich, who organised the project at the Academy, said: “We are so proud of the response from our students. A number of them even provided more than one box. Special mention must go to Nathalia Barath who contributed four shoeboxes! Thanks to our students, there will be more happy children’s faces at Christmas.” PHOTO: SUBMITTED
