A new choir formed by the patients of a March doctors’ surgery are helping others to feel better by singing in the community.
The Patients Association at the Riverside Practice launched the Riverside Surgery Singers earlier this year for fellow patients to join.

Now the choir has become so popular, its members have started performing in local nursing homes to give something back to the community.
Choir organiser Elaine Tootal said: “The response to the choir has been overwhelming with more than 20 regular members and more joining every week.
“We are now venturing out into the community. I’m very proud of all the members who do a fantastic job and are very committed.”

Elaine said songs are mainly chosen by the choir members and include numbers varying from When I’m 64 and Streets of London to Amazing Grace and Edelweiss.

The choir meets at the Riverside Practice in Marylebone Road every Tuesday from 1pm to 2pm. Anyone interested in joining can just pop along to one of the sessions.
