The March Society took part in a community ‘Street Audit’ along Nene Parade on Wednesday evening.
This is a new initiative aimed at giving residents an opportunity to influence the environmental quality of their neighbourhood.
Notes were made about obstructed signposts on Wigstones Bridge, sections of overgrown riverbank, broken fences, empty and neglected properties and the sighting of a couple of rats.
A brief report will now be produced with recommendations passed to the District and County Councils.
As it was so successful, the March Society intends carrying out similar audits in other March streets.
