About 30 people took part in the wildlife workshop organised by Froglife in the Norwood Road Nature Reserve in March at the weekend.
They learned ways of helping creatures like frogs, toads, newts and other amphibians flourish in their own gardens or allotments. They were split up into several groups; each one was given a different scenario and had to design a garden or other green space to make it more wildlife-friendly. They were all then given a tour of the nature reserve by Spencer Holland, a volunteer warden from the Wildlife Trust. A number of people expressed interest in volunteering there.
