The Fire Brigades’ Union has announced two further strike dates.

Members are set to take action on Friday November 1 from 6.30pm to 11pm and Monday November 4 from 6am to 8am.

Residents in Cambridgeshire are being assured Cambs Fire and Rescue Service has back up plans to ensure it can still answer 999 calls.

Householders are also being reminded to start making plans during the strike days by following the Be Safer, Be Slower, Be Vigilant routine.

Take extra care when cooking or smoking.

Continue to dial 999 as normal but be aware calls could be prioritised.

Make sure you have a working smoke alarm.

Know what to do in the event of a fire - get out, stay out and dial 999.

Share fire safety - Talk to family and friends.
