DUE to shopper demand, an additional 45 free parking spaces are set to be added to the Horsefair Shopping Centre’s first floor car park in time for the Christmas shopping season.
The new short stay spaces will replace some of the current long-stay options in the Wisbech shopping centre, meaning shoppers will simply need to collect a ticket from the machine on the first floor and display it in their vehicle window to enable them to park for free for up to two hours.
Work will be carried out to alter the spaces throughout the day on Wednesday, November 23 and shoppers are advised to use the available bays on the ground floor.
In addition, new pedestrian walk-ways and a crossing will be added to the first floor ensuring shoppers can use the space safely.
Horsefair manager, Kevin Smith said: “An additional 45 free short stay bays is fantastic news for the centre. The current short stay bays are used up to six times per day, so the update will allow an extra 270 cars to park each day.”
