THE fallout from a burst water main in Wisbech continues to get worse for the licensees of the Three Tuns pub.
Teresa Pope, who runs the Elgoods pub with partner Roger Harrison, said they have been told that they could be closed for a month or even longer while the mess from the flooding is cleaned up.
Their cellar was filled with seven feet of water that left behind silt inches thick on the floor. Almost everything was ruined and all the plumbing for the bar must be replaced as the pipes were contaminated.
On their second day of cleaning, the specialist team had to leave the cellar over safety concerns.
To top things off, Roger was taken ill last Tuesday, just two days after the water main burst in Duke Street, and hospitalised.
Teresa suffers from poor health herself and spent six months in hospital two years ago with life-threatening stomach problems.
