Adrian Wallis from Wisbech has set himself the challenge of climbing Mount Snowdon, which is over 3,500 feet, to raise money for the Prostate Cancer Research Centre in London.
As well as the climbing challenge, Adrian is keen to raise awareness of prostate cancer at the same time.
The Prostate Cancer Research Centre (PCRC) scientists are working to manage and treat prostate cancer as each year more than 30,000 men are diagnosed with the disease and more than 10,000 men die as a result of it.
Men aged 50 or over have a 1 in 11 chance of contracting prostate cancer so the message is: If in doubt, check it out. The climb is one of the biggest sponsored events to take place up Snowdon.
Adrian is hoping to raise at least £250 and is looking for sponsors through the just giving website:
www.justgiving.com/Adrian-Wallis where you can donate online. Or contact him at his email address email@example.com
The climb takes place on May 18 - 19. If you want to take part see www.snowdon500.co.uk for a registration form or call PCRC on 020 7679 9366.
