CBEEBIES’ Mr Bloom will be encouraging youngsters to find out about the living environment, how food is grown and the wonders of nature when he brings his Get Set, Grow tour to The Walks, King’s Lynn on 12 August.

The event takes place from 10am – 5pm and includes free activities and live shows.

The live shows, which include children’s favourite Mr Bloom (Ben Faulks) and his companions the Veggies, will take place at 11am, noon, 2pm, 3pm and 4 pm.

The shows are just a part of the Get Set, Grow event. Families with children six-years-old and under will also have the chance to take part in a range of hands-on activities including den building, pond dipping and outdoor games as well as learning about how to grow vegetables and the importance of insects such as bees and worms.

Entry to the events is free and open to everyone but visitors will need to apply for free tickets to come to one of the live shows.

People can apply for one show per household and for a maximum of six tickets. All children over two years of age require a ticket. To apply for a ticket please visit: http://www.bbc.co.uk/showsandtours/shows/events/mr_bloom_tour_2012.

Please note that due to the popularity of the television programme, applications will be entered into a random draw. The deadline for applications is 10pm on 30 July, after which the draw will be held. Tickets will be dispatched the day after the random draw closes (31 July).

The Walks is operated by the Borough Council of King’s Lynn & West Norfolk.

Cllr Elizabeth Nockolds, Cabinet Member for Health and Wellbeing, said: “We’re delighted that Mr Bloom’s Nursery will be visiting The Walks; I am sure lots of our local youngsters will be very excited about his arrival.

“The event promises to be a really fun way for children to learn about the living world and develop an appreciation and respect for nature. The setting of The Walks, which has its own community allotment, and is a haven for wildlife as well as being a great place to play, complements the show perfectly.”
