UPWELL St Peter’s Church flower arrangers are busy planning their 58th Flower Festival, opening on Friday June 24 through to Sunday June 26.
The theme this year is “Musicals” with local organisations including: Upwell Cubs, Upwell Primary School, Acorn Club, Upwell Bowls Club and St Peter’s Thursday morning coffee group, British Legion, Bowls Club, Upwell Playing Field and Upwell Hall contributing displays to this year’s festival with musicals such as Yellow Brick Road, Grease, Cabaret, and Mary Poppins to name but a few.
The flower festival opens on Friday morning at 10am and is open throughout the day to 6pm – and re-opens at 7.30pm with the Upwell Gilbert and Sullivan Choir singing songs from the musicals such as Les Miserables, Porgi and Bess, Carousel and many more.
Tickets available in advance from Upwell Post Office or Spikings Butchers including light refreshments. Price £8 adults and children £4.
On the Saturday there will be a coffee morning with a cake stall and bottle tombola, books, and bric-a-brac.
Sunday June 26 there will be a morning service at 9am when everyone is welcome. The flower festival will be open 10am through to 6pm, closing with Songs of Praise at 6pm when again everyone is welcome.
Raffle tickets will be on sale all throughout the three-day event with the draw taking place after Sunday’s Songs of Praise service.
