Murrow Primary School has become an academy and linked with Leverington Primary Academy.
The two schools both now come under the leadership of headteacher Rosie Simmons, who is delighted with the move.
“This is great,” Mrs Simmons said. “Both schools benefit. We can share resources between the schools, staff and equipment. We will have more joined-up working.”
Murrow officially became an academy last Monday and celebrated with a party. After their first assembly in the morning, everyone enjoyed a picnic in the afternoon that was very well attended by parents and families.
Mrs Simmons said parents will not see a difference in the day-to-day running of the school. The changes will affect the management and how decisions are made. The Trust members and directors will get more choice, particularly over financial decisions.
Mrs Simmons said response from parents has been very positive.
