Scarecrows did not frighten off visitors to an allotment open day.

Allotment holders in Chatteris took great pride in showing off the fruits of their labours.
Scores of people went along to look around the gardens in Honeysome Road which green-fingered residents have been caring for.
A scarecrow competition was held, with 10 entries. The winner was created by John Richardson.
Visitors were also able to buy fresh fruit and vegetables produced by the gardeners.
Town clerk Joanna Melton said it was the first allotment open day.
She added: “It was a good opportunity for the allotment holders to exchange information and a lovely afternoon was had by all.”
Allotment association chairman Jack Constable is pictured above dressed up as Worzel Gummidge with one of the scarecrow entries.
