MEMBERS of CMB Bowls Club, Wisbech, held a 24-hour bowls match earlier this summer in aid of charity.
The game was played in two hour sessions with members taking to the green in a variety of fancy dress costumes with the theme being a character whose name started with the same initial as the player.
A total of £1,420 was raised and has been donated to Papworth Hospital Charity for use in the cardiac department.
Also, the club have held their annual Les Howard three wood pairs tournament with a total of 24 pairs from around the area taking part.
Each pair played in a mini league with the league winners progressing to the semi-finals.
The final was an all CMB affair with the eventual winners of Doug Turner and David Bailey defeating Kath and Andy McEwan. The event was sponsored by Terry and Tina Hawkins of Fenland Fire Appliances LLP and raised £450 for the Hudson Palliative Care Centre.
