Fourteen enthusiastic cyclists from Outwell took part in a sponsored cycle ride around Sandringham and raised £300.
The money will be shared between the Friends of St Clement’s Church and the Samaritans, who organised the ride.
“To everyone’s surprise the sun shone brightly throughout the ride,” said Friends’ chair Kate Jackson (pictured far right). “But it’s not until you’re on a bike that you realise just how hilly it is around Sandringham!”
Following the success of the ride, there is now talk of a London to Paris event to raise money for the Friends, who are currently engrossed in raising cash to help pay for the conservation of the St Clement’s “demon” carvings in the roof of the medieval church.
