FRIDAY sees an open day being held in Emneth to help boost fundraising efforts by four members of Wisbech Hockey Club, who are undertaking a gruelling challenge next month.

Friends Jane Peggs, Claire Apted, Jodi Peggs and Joanne Gomm are set to take part in the Snowdonia Challenge on July 2, which will involve them in completing a 40-mile mountain cycle ride, climbing Mount Snowdon and crossing the 1.5mile Llyn Gwynant in two rafted Canadian canoes.

The open day at Church Farm is to help the foursome achieve their target of £2,000 for charity REGAIN, which helps people who have become tetraplegic through sporting accidents.

Friday’s event runs from 10.30am to 1.30pm will be attended by paralysed sportsman Andy Lee.
