TO celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, Outwell village are organising a whole weekend of celebratory events and are now looking for teams and businesses to take part.
Teams of up to four are invited for a raft race on June 2 being hosted by Well Creek Trust. Teams must bring their own home-made rafts (no canoes, boats or outboard motors allowed). The race is from church bridge mooring in Upwell to Stott’s mooring in Outwell starting at noon. There is a trophy for the winner and entrance is £5 per raft.
The ‘It’s a Knock-out’ on June 4 needs teams of six to tackle an obstacle course getting wet en route. Participants must be over 14 (under 16s must have parent/guardian permission).
The fun also includes an ‘Old Skool Dayz Sports Day’ with children’s sports. Teams of up to six children (under 14 years-old) for traditional races including the egg and spoon, three-legged and sack races.

Throughout the Fun Day the organisers are offering local small businesses the chance to advertise themselves for free. There will be a stall showcasing the best that Outwell and the surrounding villages have to offer. Priority will be given to small and local companies as this is to promote trade and investment in the community.
Business and craft people who want to have stalls and stands on Outwell playing field throughout the Fun Day are wanted. There will be a small pitch fee. Stall holders need to bring their own table/marquee.
Only one of each type of stall will be accepted so early applications are invited.
