Parish election for Long Sutton, vacancy in Gedney

An election has been requested to fill the vacancies on Long Sutton Parish Council following the resignation of Couns Jack Tyrrell and Laura Eldridge.

A Notice of Election will now be published throughout the parish.

Nomination forms can be obtained from the Long Sutton Parish Council clerk or from the returning officer at the South Holland District Council offices at Priory Road, Spalding PE11 2XE.

Nomination must be submitted by interested candidates to the returning officer between tomorrow (Friday, July 8) and 4pm on Friday, July 15.

Both will continue to be South Holland District Councillors.

• A vacancy has also arisen on the South Ward of Gedney Parish Council due to the resignation of Coun Lee Smeaton.

A Notice of Vacancy will be published throughout the parish for 14 days, during which time ten electors from the South Ward can request that an election be held to fill this vacancy.

If no such request is made, the parish council will fill this vacancy by co-option.

The deadline for ten electors to request an election is July 28.

If an election is called, it will take place by September 30.
