A March resident has hit out at motorists who park over the legal allowance on pavements.
The resident, who has asked not to be named, was responding after reading an article in last week’s Citizen about police warning cyclists they could face a fine if they ride on footpaths.
The resident said what about drivers who park three-quarters on to pavements leaving hardly any room for pedestrians, people in wheelchairs and parents with buggies.
He said in the town’s West Drive, some motorists leave only around 18 inches and he has reported this to police, who have asked for vehicle registration numbers.
The resident said there needs to be at least three feet of the pavement free.
