A GARDEN party held on Friday has netted more than £1,500 for charity.

The event held at the home of Lynda Crofts at Emneth was organised to help boost the fundraising efforts of four intrepid members of Wisbech Hockey club.

Friends Jane Peggs, Claire Apted, Jodi Peggs and Joanne Gomm, are set to take part in the Snowdonia Challenge on July 2 in aid of charity REGAIN, which helps people who have become paralysed through sporting accidents.

Friday’s event was attended by sportsman Andy Lee, who is paralysed from the neck down after suffering a cycling accident.

He spoke of the help and support he had received from the charity.

Jane said they were delighted with the open day’s success adding that many local businesses and organisations had been extremely generous in the donation of raffle prizes and items to sell.
